Ria completed her Bachelor of Science (Health and Sports) with first class honours at UNSW. In 2010 she commenced her PhD under the supervision of Dr Arun Krishnan, Prof Matthew Kiernan and Dr Cindy Lin. Her PhD involves neurophysiological studies in patients with neuropathies relating to diabetes and chronic kidney disease. Her studies focus on developing physiological biomarkers for early neuropathy and on mechanisms underlying axonal dysfunction in acquired metabolic disorders.
