In 2007 Ashley completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of Queensland, majoring in Neuroscience. She went on to complete her Honours year in the Cognitive Neuroscience laboratory at the Queensland Brain Institute, UQ, in 2008. Currently Ashley is undertaking a PhD at UNSW and NeuRA under the supervision of Dr Thomas Weickert and Professor Cyndi Shannon Weickert. She is using functional MRI and genetic analyses to determine if the estrogen receptor type 1 genotype can be linked to specific cognitive deficits in people with Schizophrenia.
