Dr Dipesh Joshi is a postdoctoral Research Officer in the Schizophrenia Research Laboratory. Dr Joshi completed his PhD at Monash University (2010) and his doctoral research focused on understanding the behavioural, neurochemical and molecular basis of opioid addiction. Dr Joshi’s postdoctoral research activities focus on examining the developmental origin of increased subcortical neurons in people with schizophrenia and the role of neuregulin-1 (NRG1) and its receptor ErbB4 (two critical neurodevelopmental genes) in the development of schizophrenia. Dr Joshi is a recipient of International Brain Research Organization Travel Grants (2008, 2012) and has presented his research at national and international meetings. Dr Joshi has recently published his schizophrenia research in high ranking psychiatry journal including Biological Psychiatry.
