Dr Dipesh Joshi completed his PhD at Monash University, 2010. His doctoral research focused on understanding the behavioural, neurochemical and molecular basis of opioid addiction. He has four published papers from his work on opioid dependence and is recipient of International Brain Research Organization travel grant for attending European Neuroscience conference. Deeply inspired by Cyndi’s research and her passion to find a cure for the devastating mental illness, he moved over from drug addiction to schizophrenia research. He is currently appointed as a postdoctoral Research Officer at the Schizophrenia Research Laboratory. His current research is aimed at examining the developmental origin of increased subcortical neurons in people with schizophrenia and the role of neuregulin-1 and its receptors in the development of schizophrenia. He has presented his work at national and international meetings.
