I am interested in the use of nerve excitability testing to investigate the pathophysiology of neuropathy as well as its clinical applicability as a diagnostic tool. Using threshold tracking techniques to measure multiple excitability properties of large human motor and sensory axons, we are able to collect new information to complement that collected by conventional nerve conduction studies. The neuropathies under investigation include those associated with diabetes, uraemia and other metabolic disorders, and those associated with the chemotherapy in cancers.
