Dr Sturnieks has a PhD in human biomechanics (UWA). She is currently a Senior Research Officer at NeuRA where she helped to establish the Human Movement and Gait Analysis Laboratory. Dr Sturnieks brings an experimental approach and biomechanical expertise to address complex problems of disorders that affect human movement. Her projects investigate sensorimotor contributions to disturbances of balance, gait, voluntary and protective stepping in older people.
