Dr Lara Harvey is an injury epidemiologist, with a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy (USyd), Master’s degree in Public Health (UNSW), and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Epidemiology (NSW Ministry of Health). In 2012, Lara completed her PhD at the University of NSW investigating the translation of research into policy and practice in the prevention of burn injury.
Lara has extensive experience in the analysis of large population-based administrative datasets and survey methodology. Her research areas of interest include population-based trends in injury and the evaluation of population-based policies and regulations/legislation. Current studies include; trends in fall-related hospitalisations in the older population, traumatic brain injury and warfarin use, and the use of linked data to describe the population burden of fall-related injury.
