Michael is an Applied Spinal Cord Injury Research Fellow funded by the New South Wales Office for Medical Research and the Brain Foundation. He has a PhD in Neurophysiology as well as clinical qualifications in Physiotherapy and Chiropractic. Michael was a full-time Lecturer in Neurology at Macquarie University (2010) and prior to that, in Exercise Physiology at UNSW (2008-2010) before joining Neuroscience Research Australia in 2011. He is currently conducting clinical research with Professor Matthew Kiernan and Dr Cindy Lin to better understand the roles of exercise and electrical stimulation therapy in the treatment and rehabilitation of spinal cord injury and motor neurone disease.
