Shan-Yuan Tsai attained a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of New South Wales, majoring in Pharmacology and Physiology in 2006. She was awarded a summer scholarship to study urge incontinence in muscarinic cells in culture. She joined the Schizophrenia Research Laboratory team in 2007 to work on quantifying changes in specific proteins and study the different levels of expression of RNA in developing human brains and in the brains of patients with schizophrenia. Shan-Yuan has also been involved in creating and characterizing the brain resources (mRNA, protein and DNA) for the large cohorts. Thus, she made a major contribution to our paper in Australian New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry.
