Sue joined the Koori Growing Old Well Study in 2011, to provide liaison between the research team and community organisations in Coffs Harbour, and recruitment of study participants. Sue has a Bachelor of Education, is a highly respective elder in the local Aboriginal community where she is actively involved in the Local Aboriginal Lands Council, Coffs Harbour Aboriginal Family Care centre, and other community organizations.
