Dementia affects around 350,000 Australians. Whilst there’s still no cure, a better insight into the experience of dementia can help to improve the care and quality of life for those affected. The ABC’s Lynne Malcolm – All in the Mind – speaks with Dr Bill Brooks about a drug that could prevent people at high risk of Alzheimer’s disease from developing the condition and Dr Muireann Irish about her latest research showing that those with dementia not only lose their memory of the past, but also their ability to imagine the future.
