Amanda’s research focuses on┬ábrain and behavioural development of young children on the autism spectrum. Their development will be compared to typically developing children. This will help us to understand what changes in brain connectivity are occurring and if they are becoming similar to typically developing children or if they are making new and unique connections in the brain.

Amanda completed her B Psychology Hons, she is ADOS Certified and ABA Certified.

Utilising a novel neuroimaging technique (functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy) we compare brain activity of young children on the autism spectrum receiving therapy to typically developing children. This allows us to understand what changes might be occurring in the brain and if children on the autism spectrum are making new and unique connections.
