Melody completed an honours degree in psychology at Macquarie University in 2017. After graduation, she did an eight months’ internship at Southwest Hospital in China, working in neurology, neurosurgery and clinical psychology department.
Melody is currently working on the SHAPE project at NeuRA, which intends to improve health outcomes for people with dementia and their care partners. She also volunteers as a research assistant at Behavioural Sciences Unit in Sydney Children’s Hospital during her spare time, where she works on improving childhood cancer survivors’ long-term engagement with healthcare.
This is a trial designed to test a new intervention to support people with early stage dementia and their care partners. The research will combine three existing interventions based on self-management, health promotion and e-learning into one extended educational program. We hope to improve well-being and support people to live in their own homes for as long as possible by providing the relevant knowledge, information and skills directly to the people with dementia.
